HEY MOVEMENT FAMILY!
We wanted to give you an update concerning Movement Church and some decisions that have been made recently regarding our church amid the Covid-19 concerns in our state and nation.
The decision has been made by our Staff, our Board, and our Network Leadership to suspend all in-person services for the next 3 Sundays, with the possibility that we will extend beyond that if necessary.
We do not take this decision lightly, and we know there are many of you who would join us in-person given the opportunity. However, we believe that this is an important step for us to do our part to “Flatten the Curve” of Covid-19 spreading in our area and state.
With that said, we were encouraged this week to see how many people engaged with us through our Live-Stream on Facebook, and we will be working this week to enhance our digital presence through Facebook Live and YouTube Live. We will stream a time of worship and a message in our BOLD series each Sunday at 9:30 and 11:00 AM on both platforms, with the links below taking you directly to our pages.
Obviously, for many a decision like this raises big questions like “How can we be the church if we’re not meeting together?” I would answer this way: The church has never been about ONE method. It’s always been about a mission: the people of God, doing the work of God, to spread the good news about the Son of God. In a time like this, the METHOD will change, but the MISSION remains.
We will continue to Influence people to know Jesus.
We will continue to be Involved in Community (even if it looks different now).
We will continue to grow in Intimacy with God.
We will continue to Invest in our Church, Community and the World.
In short, we will continue to love one another, and to love people around us because that’s what love requires of us.
(P.S. Below I’ve posted answers to a few additional questions you may have.)
To answer a few questions many of you will have:
WHAT ABOUT OUR KIDS?
Each week, in addition to our Live Stream service, we will be posting video experiences on Facebook that you can share with your kids. We think this is a pretty exciting opportunity for you as parents to be the spiritual leader in your home.
WILL GROUPS CONTINUE TO MEET?
The decision for our Groups to meet or pause meeting for the time being is a decision that we will leave within the hands of our Group leaders and Group members. We believe that it is important to follow the guidelines and recommendations of the CDC and Government Officials in whatever choice you and your Group make.
HOW CAN WE STAY CONNECTED AND UPDATED?
The best way to stay up to date on everything happening within our church is to follow us on Facebook, and to be making sure to check your e-mail for updates.
HOW ARE WE PLANNING ON SERVING OUR CITY?
We are still working on answering that question. We have reached out to the LCPS School Board, and to local food pantries and we will have an answer and a plan in the next few days. Stay tuned.
IF I HAVE A NEED, WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO LET THE CHURCH KNOW?
You can call us at any time at 575-343-0496, e-mail me personally at firstname.lastname@example.org, or Private Message our Facebook Page. We want to pray with you, and do our best to meet any needs with which we can assist.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO FINANCIALLY SUPPORT MOVEMENT AT THIS TIME?
The best way to support Movement financially is to keep doing what you do so well as a church…GIVE. If you typically give with cash or check during a weekend service, this might be a great time to consider online giving. You can give anytime you choose or set-up recurring donations with credit card, debit card, or through an ACH link with your bank account. If you would still like to give with cash or check, you can send either to our mailing address: Movement Church, P.O. Box 1807, Las Cruces, NM 88004
